Wedding Videography or Photography?

Wedding Videography or Photography?
Which wedding service should you decide on…

If your budget does not quite stretch to both, it can certainly be a very difficult decision to make when planning a wedding. Here’s a few pros/cons for both wedding photography and wedding videography which may make your decision easier:

Photography:

A photographer, for many people, is one of the most crucial elements to cover in their wedding plans – equally as important as their wedding dress or suit, or their ceremony venue. It makes sense. Considering the planning and work that goes into a wedding, one would want to ensure that it is captured in the best way possible, to be enjoyed with family and friends in the coming years. The capturing of your wedding memories with beautiful, elegant, wedding photos is arguably the most popular way to do this, and it’s not hard to see why. A professionally framed wedding photo quickly transforms an empty wall into a work of art – your work of art – which can be seen everyday by family, friends, and of course you!

The obvious downside to wedding photography is that with each wedding photo, you only get that one single moment. The question is: will that be enough for you in the years to come? There’s no doubt that with wedding photography, a bulk of the wedding is missed. Fortunately, there is a solution to this problem: wedding video.

Video:

Undoubtably, the best and most effective way to capture as much of your wedding detail as possible is wedding video. From the bride walking down the isle, the music that was playing at the time, to the saying of the vows, to their first dance together watched by family and friends, a skilled videographer captures all of these moments and more beautifully, as well as all of the emotion and joy of this once in a lifetime occasion.

The downside? With a wedding video, you have to sit down and watch it. It can’t remain on a wall to be seen by all.

The question remains: which one? A wedding videographer or a wedding photographer?

It’s a very personal choice for each couple, and in the end it’s up to you to decide which you’d prefer: elegantly captured single moments to be printed, framed, shared with family and friends, etc, or an exquisitely filmed video of the wedding, to be enjoyed in coming years with family and friends.

We’ve thought long and hard about it, and we can’t decide which one we’d choose. What we do know is that we couldn’t give up either our wedding photos or our wedding video, and just about all the couples we ask the same question to, give us the same answer. The other practically unanimous answer we receive from couples of all ages who have gone with one and not the other, is that they wish they went with both.

If you’re certain that you can only afford one or the other, then we can guarantee that whether you choose wedding videography or wedding photography, if you pick the right videographer or photographer for you, you’ll treasure the work they produce for years to come.

Our advice? Get them both. This day only comes around once, and in our experience, one that the bride and groom barely have a chance to really enjoy at the time. In 1, 10, or 50 years time, you don’t want to be looking back, kicking yourself for not properly capturing your once in a lifetime occasion.
